TRIS
Team
|
|
The Training
Records Information System (TRIS) Team is part of the University
Training Consortium Project based at Eastern Kentucky University.
The team provides products, support, and programming to assist in
providing quality training for Cabinet for Health and Family Services
(CHFS), Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) employees;
resource parents, contracting officials, and community partners
to better serve the families and children of the Commonwealth. The
team has multiple responsibilities and is structured around three
basic "functional" areas.

(1). CHFS
Training Records System
|
|

Jennifer
Newman processes registrations
submitted through the Online Registration System (ORS).
|
The TRIS system
is a computerized database of all DCBS staff training records and
training activities conducted by the Cabinet's Training Branch.
Team members work closely with Regional Training Coordinators and
Assistants, University Training Consortium staff, and the Training
Branch trainers and staff.

Team members
who work with this system are responsible for posting training information
on the Online Registration System (ORS), processing training registration
and participant lodging requests, capturing training records, and
capturing evaluation data for scheduled training events.

Susan
Barber is proofing training evaluation results before forwarding
them to the trainers and site contacts.

Melissa
Davis generates a customized report for the Cabinet for Health and
Family Services.
|
The
TRIS system provides comprehensive data for customized and special
reports for the Cabinet. The system provides aggregate data on training
hours, training participants, and budgetary information in relation
to training events, training needs assessment, prerequisite notification,
staff demographics, and other related information. |

Resource Parent Training Records
|

Kristi
Carlisle speaks to an R&C worker about a resource parent's training
record.
|
The
FAP-TRIS system is a computerized database of all resource parent
training records and training activities conducted by the Cabinet's
Training Branch as well as the Cabinet's Recruitment and Certification
(R&C) regional offices. Resource parents include foster, adoptive,
and adoption subsidy homes. Team members work closely with R&C
supervisors, R&C workers, University of Kentucky Training Consortium,
Murray State University Training Consortium, and resource parent associations. |
| Team
members who work with this system are responsible for capturing and
maintaining information on resource parents from initial point of
contact through approval, capture training attendance for resource
parents, and compile closure survey for foster parents. Team members
often provide training and support to R&C supervisors and R&C
workers on FAP-TRIS topics. |

Turner provides training on the FAP-TRIS system.

Bob
Wine, Programmer/Analyst, generates a customized report on resource
parent attendance at training events.
|
The FAP-TRIS
system provides comprehensive data for customized and management
reports for the Cabinet. The system provides aggregate data on training
hours, training participants, training requirements, tracking of
resource parent approval, and other related information.

Programming Services |
| TRIS
and FAP-TRIS are customized training tracking systems that require
programming services. Team members working in this area include three
full-time Programmer/Analysts. |

Josh
Reynolds provides programming for many of the TRIS and FAP-TRIS
online applications. |

Michael
Wooten writes a program to give automatic training credit for online
courses.
