Description:
Foundation of Youth Work is a new 28-hour 4-day curriculum designed to provide youth care workers with general guide skills needed to support children and families throughout their journey in care. Foundations of Youth Work is designed for direct line residential youth care workers. Topics covered include: working with families, the developing child, building relationships, communication, structuring the therapeutic milieu, and empathizing with youth in care. Participants will also complete the Myers Briggs Type Inventory and their scores will be interpreted during the training. Foundations of Youth Work is taught by experienced trainers in the field of youth care. Trainers incorporate role-playing, group discussion, and case studies into the curriculum. Foundation of Youth Work is a beneficial training for all youth care workers and provides a core basic knowledge for new workers entering the field.

Special Information:
There is no fee for this training, however participants are responsible for all travel expenses including lodging.
