Description:
This training meets the legislative mandates of KRS 194A, requiring all DCBS staff to complete an elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation initial course. This training is designed for Protection & Permanency, Family Support, and Child Support staff to increase identification and assessment skills in order to prevent and remedy elder maltreatment. This training will present demographic information and future trends of the elder population, examine the dynamics and effects of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, identify lethality/risk factors, and present model protocols on providing community resources and victim services available for older adults experiencing elder maltreatment.
|
Special Information:
This training does not replace the requirement for those staff assigned adult protective service investigations, guardianship assessments, and ongoing services; as they will complete Meeting Needs of Vulnerable Adults Training.
This training has been approved for 6 CEUs by the Kentucky Board of Social Work. Please contact your RTC and/or trainer for more information. |
