Description:
This training session will feature Denise Goodman, Ph.D., who is a nationally known child welfare professional with over 25 years of professional experience. She is also a technical assistant to the Annie E. Casey Foundation in the area of recruitment, training, licensing and support of resource families and one of the co-developers of the file mining tool that has been used most recently by our staff.
The morning session will cover the topic of child specific recruitment and will give workers new tools for your toolbox. This session will help staff generate new ideas for identifying options for permanency for youth where there appear to be no remaining options or who may be reluctant to consider adoption.
Following lunch (provided in house to maximize time), Ms. Goodman will provide case consultation on select cases that were used during the July Family Finding training sessions. Specific plans will be generated before the end of the day and follow up will occur with participants by Project MATCH coordinators during the month of December.
